More primates like black and white Colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, red-tailed monkeys, bush babies and pottos can be seen here. Many bird species like the yellow-spotted nicator, rumped tinker bird, little greenbul, green breasted pitta, the crowned eagle and black bee-eater are also found here. You can also see mammals such as elephants in this walk. Afterwards, you’ll transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park and relax on arrival.

Day 3: Game Drive & Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

You’ll have a game drive in the northern part of the park on the Kasenyi Track in search of lions, elephants, and solitary buffaloes. This is the best time for opportunities to view the cats in action owing to the vast population of Uganda Kobs. We’ll have an excellent chance to view just about every animal here at a very close range. Afterwards, we’ll return to the lodge for breakfast, before heading out for a launch trip along the Kazinga Channel. This gives you the opportunity to view wildlife up close: hippo’s huff and spray at a mere feet away from the boat and buffalos linger in the shallows. The shores of the channel are also home to an array of birds including pink backed pelicans, pied and malachite kingfishers, saddle billed stork and many others.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

You’ll have an early morning breakfast and afterwards proceed to the park headquarters to have a briefing about the dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking in Bwindi. The rangers will then accompany you to the thick rainforest to start your search for the gentle giants. Trekkers are always advised to carry their raincoats and boots because the weather there is always unpredictable. There are also some potters who always help with the carrying of the luggage on behalf of the visitors but at a small extra cost. It’s always not easy to predict how long gorilla tracking will take and this also depends on the location of some families since some of them are far from the park headquarters. However, it always takes 2 to 7 hours to come into contact with them and the rangers will always be there to guide you. Trackers are also advisable to be physically fit before going for tracking. After your trek, go back to the lodge and have a late lunch (or opt for packed lunch).
