Day By Day Itinerary:
Day 1: Nairobi – Mount Kenya
Your driver will pick you up from your Nairobi Hotel or airport and brief you about the safari. We will set off to Mount Kenya National Park, arriving at Fairmont Mount Kenya Safari Club for lunch. Secreted deep within the country’s largest forest reserve, the lodge offers the clarity of mountain air, the tranquility of the forest, a colorful parade of wildlife, and the chance of scaling the icy peaks of Kenya’s highest mountain. On the way, you can see the pineapple plantation, the famous Delmonte farm in Thika. In the afternoon, pay a visit to the Mt. Kenya Animal Orphanage. The animal orphanage is located at the entrance gate of Mount Kenya Wildlife Conservancy and is within walking distance from the lodge reception. The orphanage is also home to injured, neglected, or frightened wild animals. They are taken care of at the orphanage to release them back into the wild where they belong.

Day 2: Mount Kenya – Samburu National Reserve
After breakfast, we’ll embark on our journey north towards Samburu National Reserve, which is set in the northern region of Kenya. Along the way, you’ll enjoy spectacular landscapes. Your drive shall proceed to pass the equator crossing to the semi-arid county of Samburu. Embark on your first game drive en route to Elephant Bedroom Camp for check-in and Lunch. Another game drive is scheduled in the afternoon till evening.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve
Enjoy your breakfast, followed by a full day of unlimited wildlife viewing. Possible sightings include the Special Five of Samburu: the Reticulated giraffe, the Grevy zebra, the Beisa oryx, the Somali ostrich, and gerenuk, all rare species that occur only in this part of the country, and look for its well-known more giant game, including elephants, lions and leopards. Enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to the camp to relax for the afternoon/evening. Your game drives will be along the Ewaso Nyiro River, where most wild animals are found.

Day 4: Samburu National Reserve to Ol Pejeta Conservancy
Enjoy your breakfast, check out, and embark on a journey to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, situated between the foothills of the Aberdares Ranges and the magnificent snow-capped peaks of Mount Kenya. You’ll arrive in time for lunch at Serena Sweetwaters Camp, relax, and, in the afternoon, enjoy a game drive in the pristine wilderness of the conservancy. You’ll return to the camp for dinner and proceed for a night game drive from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. A night game drive lets visitors discover Ol Pejeta Conservancy ‘after hours.’ With the help of a spotlight, the drives can produce some unusual sightings of nocturnal animals, including aardvarks, white-tailed mongooses, zorillas, and even, perhaps, bat-eared foxes. Lions, often sleeping during the day, are usually sighted alert and active at night, and even occasionally, the more elusive leopard. We recommend that you come dressed appropriately to keep warm.

Day 5: Ol Pejeta to Lake Nakuru National Park
After an early morning game drive and breakfast, embark on a safari to Lake Nakuru National Park with a brief stop at Thompson Falls for a breathtaking scenery view. We’ll arrive for lunch, check-in at the Cliff, and proceed for a Lake Nakuru National Park game drive. Lake Nakuru National Park is spectacular; it’s beautiful and rich, with plenty of hills and grassland forests. You will surely see a rare Rothschild giraffe and a white rhino along the lake shore. The park is a sanctuary for one of Kenya’s largest populations of black rhinos. Another aspect of active wildlife includes parks like zebra, hippo, olive baboon, vervet, Columbus monkey, waterbuck, and hyena. The park has tree-climbing lions, cheetahs, leopards, and buffalo. Also, in the woodland, giant pythons are hanging on trees; African pythons can swallow animals whole.

Day 6: Lake Nakuru to Masai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy breakfast, check out, and depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve. Along the way, you will have a stopover at the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley for splendid views of the escarpments and take amazing pictures. You will have another stopover in Narok Town to interact with the locals and buy locally-made items and fresh fruits from the market centers. Arrive in the reserve in time for check-in and have lunch. In the afternoon, you will go for a game drive exploring the endless plains of Maasai Mara National Reserve – a world-famous reserve. During the game drive, you will see a wide range of wildlife, including zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, lions, cheetahs, leopards, and African wild dogs.

Day 7: Masai Mara National Reserve
Enjoy your breakfast and head to the reserve for a full-day game drive with your packed lunch; on this day, you will explore the endless plains of the reserve on a full-day game drive. During the game drive, you can watch a wide ray of animals, such as lions, zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, giraffes, African wild dogs, elephants, leopards, rhinos, and many bird species. You will have a picnic lunch at lunchtime along the Mara River or the Masai Mara Savannah. In the afternoon, you will go for another game drive, explore the park more, and enjoy the sights of other animals and birds.

Day 8: Masai Mara National Reserve to Nairobi
After a leisurely breakfast at your lodge/camp, your dedicated driver guide will assist you with the checkout process and proceed to Nairobi – Kenya’s colorful capital city. On the way, you’ll visit Masai Village, which will allow you to experience the authentic culture of the Masai and get some souvenirs.
You’ll arrive in Nairobi on time for lunch, and later, your driver guide will transfer you to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for your flight back home or to the Nairobi Hotel.
