5 Days Kenya Safari Mid Range Lodges

Tour Overview:

This is a short but well-organized safari that will give you a chance to explore Kenya’s premier parks. Start with the famous Masai Mara, known for its annual wildebeest migration and its high concentration of wildlife. The third night is spent at Lake Nakuru National Park, one of Kenya’s rhino sanctuaries and home to over 56 mammals. The tour ends with a visit to Amboseli known as Kilimanjaro’s Royal Court for its breathtaking views of Africa’s highest mountain and herds of elephants.

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara National Reserve

You will be picked up from your Nairobi hotel or the airport at 7:00 am and depart for Masai Mara. You will have a stopover at the Great Rift Valley viewing point for a short photo session. Drive further southwards arriving in Mara in time for lunch at the Mara Sopa Lodge. Have lunch and relax from the long journey till 4:00 pm. Leave the camp for an evening game drive till 6:30 pm. Masai Mara is renowned for the spectacular great migration that takes place in July through October. Nevertheless, it is an all-year-round destination that never disappoints. You can spot all of the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and Cape buffalo) at any time of the year.

Day 2: Masai Mara National Reserve Exploration

Have breakfast at 6:30 am and leave the Lodge at 7:00 am with a packed picnic lunch. Enjoy a full-day game drive in search of animals in this park. Among the animals, you can look forward to seeing include the Masai giraffes, lions, cheetahs, leopards, elephants, hippos, crocodiles, Thompson’s gazelles, Grant’s gazelles, impalas, topis, zebras, wildebeest, warthogs, hyenas, dik-diks, klipspringers, waterbucks, bushbucks, Coke’s hartebeests, black rhinos, elands, baboons, foxes, and jackals. You’ll also see numerous bird species including ostriches, cormorants, grebes, storks, falcons, and bastards among others.

Day 3: Masai Mara – Lake Nakuru National Park

Wake up early and enjoy an early morning game drive in search of big game and later return to the camp for breakfast. Check out and leave Masai Mara for another long drive to the famous Lake Nakuru. Arrive in time for lunch at the Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge. Relax after lunch and later proceed for an evening game drive at 4:00 pm. The lake is situated on the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National
Park. Visitors can enjoy the wide ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for bird watching, hiking, picnic and game drives. Return to the camp at 6:30 pm for dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park – Amboseli National Park

Wake up at first light, leave the camp for an early morning game drive in search of game and later return to the camp for breakfast. Leave Lake Nakuru National Park with a game drive en route. It’s another long and easy drive to Amboseli National Park branded the Kilimanjaro Royal Court. Arrive in time for lunch at the Amboseli Sopa Lodge. Relax after lunch and proceed for an evening game drive, thereafter. You will be amazed by the herds of free-ranging elephants in this park. 4 of the Big Five are also residents in this park so you can expect a treat. Return to the camp for dinner and an overnight stay at 6:30 pm

Day 5: Amboseli National Park – Nairobi

Wake up at first light, grab a cup of coffee and leave the lodge for an early morning game drive in search of big game. Return to the camp for a full breakfast after which you will checkout and leave Amboseli National Park for Nairobi where you will be dropped off.
