5 Day Chobe River and Okavango Delta

Tour Overview:

Our 5-day Chobe and Delta combine two of Botswana’s wildlife hotspots, the Chobe River region and the Okavango Delta, for a diverse and rewarding safari. There’s great game viewing at each destination and beautiful diversity between the two regions. Explore these highlights from small intimate tented camps. Activities include morning, afternoon and night game drives, river cruises, mokoro trips and local village tours. This trip can very easily be combined with Victoria Falls or Cape Town.

Day 1-2: The Chobe River

Today you will be transferred to the Chobe River for 2 nights at Chobe Elephant Camp on a full-board basis.

A 2-hour transfer after breakfast will take you to the Chobe National Park and your next accommodation, Chobe Elephant Camp. Perched on a forested ridge, the traditional safari camp offers panoramic river views at almost every turn. Game drives along the river floodplains are mixed with boat cruises to deliver a comprehensive Chobe experience. At its best in the May to October dry season, the river attracts huge numbers of animals, especially elephants who crowd the water’s edge on a hot afternoon. The densities of the game draw predators, especially lions and increasingly leopards, which are seen lurking in the riverine forest. The river cruises allow you a closer look at the Chobe. Keep an eye out for crocodiles and hippos as well as giant monitor lizards and African Fish-eagles.

Day 3-4: A Pearl in the Okavango Delta

Today you’ll fly by shared charter to Kadizora Camp in the Okavango Delta. You will enjoy two nights on a full-board basis.

From the Khwai Reserve, you will fly by shared charter to the northern Okavango Delta. Your destination is Kadizora Camp, set under trees and overlooking grassy floodplains dotted with grazing antelope. Your tented chalet comes complete with a lounge, en suite bathroom, and viewing deck. Like most delta camps, Kadizora offers 4X4 game drives, boating, walking safaris, and canoe safaris. Between April and September, guests can also enjoy a unique experience: a hot air balloon flight over the Okavango Delta. Here the density and diversity of wildlife is very high and Kadizora ends this safari on a high note.
